**Job Description**
The Research Assistant III in the Brown Cancer Center will primarily perform genotyping on pigs, assist in pig shipping logistics and maintenance, and aid in pig surgery. A core function involves creating and maintaining eye cell cultures, independently performing immunocytochemical studies, subjecting cells to experimental conditions, and conducting Western blots. Responsibilities also include data recording, analysis for lab meetings, planning new experiments, supplying cells to other researchers, maintaining lab supplies and equipment, and assisting with training new lab staff.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Entry level knowledge of theories and practices of a research lab
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Related field (Associate’s Degree)
• Biology or other related scientific field (Bachelor’s degree – Preferred)
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• 2 years (Associate’s Degree in a related field)
Other:
• 3-5 years previous experience in a research lab working with animal models (pig and rodent) (Preferred)
