**Job Description**
The Research Assistant III in the Kentucky Spinal Cord Injury Research Center will support a research laboratory focused on investigating physiological changes after spinal cord injury (SCI) in transgenic mouse animal models. The individual will be responsible for conducting live imaging studies of the spinal cord using in-vivo and ex-vivo SCI models, performing quantitative analyses, dissection, and cryostat sectioning of spinal cord tissue, and processing histological and imaging data sets utilizing software such as Image J. The role also involves animal handling care and procedures, along with other assigned duties.

• Image analyses software (Image J)
• Word, Excel, statistical software
• Laboratory animal care and procedures

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Related field (Associate’s Degree minimum)

**Experience**
Experience Required:
• Two (2) years of related experience
Other:
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
