**Job Description**
This PhD position is offered within the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, specifically in the Group Technical Physics I at Technische Universität Ilmenau. The role is designed to support the candidate’s academic qualification from January 1, 2026, under the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act. This position is part of the DFG Priority Program SPP 2477 “Nitrides4Future – Novel Materials and Device Concepts,” specifically within a joint sub-project with Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg titled “Exploring the upper limits of piezoelectric polarization in ternary metal nitrides.” The research focuses on the MBE growth of [(Sc,Y,La),(Al,Ga,In)]N and the experimental investigation of their structural, elastic, and electronic properties, along with their long-term stability.
