**Job Description**
We are seeking a motivated Ph.D. candidate or Postdoctoral fellow to join a collaborative research program within the VIB-Center for Inflammation Research, specifically within the Guilliams and Saelens teams. The research project focuses on applying in vivo CRISPR screens to study the functional specialization of macrophages during liver metastasis. This project, supported by the Foundation against Cancer (2025-2030), aims to unravel the causal circuits driving the development and functional specialization of immunosuppressive tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), including their crosstalk with cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs). The role involves combining state-of-the-art in vivo perturbational technologies and advanced computational modeling within an interdisciplinary team to decode causal circuits controlling TAM and CAF reprogramming.

• Strong interest in cancer, immunology, stromal cells or hepatology
• Experience with highly multiplexed flow cytometry and confocal microscopy (Bonus)
• Experience in single-cell or spatial omics (Bonus)

Required Degree(s) in:
• Bio-engineering
• Medicine
• Molecular biology
• Immunology
• Related fields

**Experience**
Other:
• FELASA certification
• Experience in either cancer, immunology, stromal cells or hepatology
