**Job Description**
The Center for Sustainable Soil Sciences (CAES) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Agronomy and Soils Sciences. The role focuses on the dynamics of organic matter (SOM) in soils, exploring methods to enhance its stable forms, and establishing relationships between SOM and biological indicators for soil health under diverse land uses. The successful candidate will conduct innovative research to evaluate the impact of land uses and agricultural practices on soil carbon storage, develop strategies (organo-mineral amendment, plant cover installation, microbial inoculation) to increase stable SOM sequestration, and utilize practical biological soil health indicators to promote sustainable agricultural soil use in Africa.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong knowledge of soil science, soil fertility, and crop production systems in Mediterranean and Sub-Saharan African countries.
• Capabilities to set up field experiments and interpret measured data, including statistical methods.
• Ability to translate research into high-quality manuscripts for submission.
• Strong communication skills in English and French, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and the broader scientific community.

Required Degree(s) in:
• Agronomy
• Soils Sciences
• Soil Ecology
**Experience**
Other:
• Hands-on experience with the dynamic of Organic Matter in soils.
• Demonstrated experience of multidisciplinary research in the above research area.
• High-quality publications in relevant scientific journals demonstrating a strong record of research accomplishments.
• Experience in supervising undergraduate/graduate students.
