**Job Description**
Working under moderate supervision, the Research Assistant 1 will perform experiments in a neuroscience lab focused on neurogenesis. The role requires knowledge of various approaches, including routine molecular biology, immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, behavioral assays, and data analysis software, and involves working with animals.

• Demonstrated compassion for animals within CWRU facilities and dedication to the Animal Resource Center’s mission.
• Ability to handle animals with care and respect at all times.
• Previous experience working with animals (preferred).
• Demonstrated willingness to learn new techniques, procedures, processes, and computer programs/gear as needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
• Familiarity and ability to use various laboratory equipment (centrifuge, biomedical hood, electrophysiology rig).
• Demonstrated history of successful support, education, and advocacy for all students, aligned with university values, mission, and messaging.
• Ability to meet consistent attendance.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Science (Bachelor of Science degree)
• Biotechnology (Associate’s degree in an approved program)
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• 0 to 1 year (Bachelor of Science)
• 0 to 2 years (Associate’s degree in an approved biotechnology program)
Other:
• Background in animal genetics required.
• Previous experience working with animals preferred.
