**Job Description**
The Network Science Institute (NetSI) at Northeastern University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the lab of Research Professor Michael Johansson within NetSI and Bouve College of Health Sciences. This role involves advancing the understanding of complex systems through networks and applying this knowledge to solve real-world problems. Professor Johansson’s research focuses on the interface of research and operational public health, utilizing statistical and mathematical models to improve surveillance, prevention, and control of infectious diseases, particularly arboviral diseases. The position aims to integrate epidemiology, complex systems, and network science to develop, evaluate, and implement novel models supporting public health decision-making.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong programming skills (R, Python, and/or Julia)
• Experience interacting with and communicating complex findings to diverse partners (e.g., the public, scientists, or public health officials)

Required Degree(s) in:
• Epidemiology
• Applied Mathematics
• Statistics
• Network Science
**Experience**
Other:
• PhD in a related discipline (e.g., epidemiology, applied mathematics, statistics, or network science) by the start of the appointment
• Experience developing complex models for real world data
