**Job Description**
The Research Assistant 1 will work under moderate supervision in a neuroscience lab focusing on neurogenesis. The role involves performing experiments using a variety of approaches including routine molecular biology, immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, behavioral assays, and data analysis software, specifically working with animals.

• Previous experience working with animals preferred.
• Willingness to learn new techniques, procedures, processes, and computer programs/gear.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
• Familiarity and ability to use various laboratory equipment (centrifuge, biomedical hood, electrophysiology rig).
• Demonstrated history of successful support, education, and advocacy for all students, aligned with university values and mission.
• Ability to meet consistent attendance.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Science
• Biotechnology
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• 0 to 1 year (Bachelor of Science)
• 0 to 2 years (Associate’s degree in an approved biotechnology program)
Other:
• Background in animal genetics required.
• Previous experience working with animals preferred.
