**Job Description**
The Chen laboratory focuses on a wide range of lung biology research, particularly acute and chronic lung injuries, utilizing cell lines, small animals, and human specimens. As an NIH T32-supported Research Fellow, the incumbent will work independently and collaboratively with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientists, designing and performing experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, and contributing to publications and presentations. The role involves developing new research techniques, compiling scientific findings, and supervising lab work, while not being responsible for generating grant funds. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.

� Demonstrated aptitude to perform experimental protocols and procedures, including detailed data collection, and analysis and operation and maintenance of specialized equipment.
� Ability to simultaneously manage multiple project objectives with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
� Excellent written and oral communication skills.
� Highly motivated.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
� Doctorate (MD, PhD, VMD, or DDS)
**Experience**
Other:
� Works independently on research projects developed by a mentor (typically the PI).
� Acquires technical and theoretical knowledge of research projects and objectives during appointment.
