**Job Description**
The Chen laboratory studies a wide range of lung biology research, focusing on acute and chronic lung injuries, utilizing cell lines, small animals, and human specimens. As an NIH T32-supported Research Fellow, the incumbent will work independently and collaboratively with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientists, analyzing and interpreting data, assisting with grant proposals, and participating in publications and presentations. This role does not require generating grant funds.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Demonstrated aptitude to perform experimental protocols and procedures, including detailed data collection, analysis, and operation and maintenance of specialized equipment.
• Ability to simultaneously manage multiple project objectives with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Highly motivated.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Doctorate (MD, PhD, VMD, or DDS) in an area directly related to field of research specialization or related.
**Experience**
Other:
• U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency status is required.
• Works independently on research projects developed by a mentor.
• Acquires technical and theoretical knowledge of research projects and objectives during appointment.
