**Job Description**
The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), in collaboration with an industrial partner, is seeking a Researcher / Postdoctoral Fellow to develop innovative electroplated copper-based composites. The project aims to enhance material performance by modifying thermal properties (reduced coefficient of thermal expansion) and developing electromagnetic shielding capacity through the use of metallic/ceramic and Carbon nanostructures. The role primarily focuses on materials integration, nano-enabled coatings, and multifunctional composites.
**Skills & Abilities**
• 3 to 5 years proven experience in an international R&D environment (public or private sector)
• Background in thermal properties of nano- to micro-structured materials
• Combining fundamental understanding and materials synthesis
• Nanostructuration of materials for electromagnetic shielding
• Nanocomposite synthesis and characterization
• Experience in deposition techniques such as co-electrodeposition, electroplating, vapour phase technology (considered a plus)
• Proven autonomy in material characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, EDS, XRD, TGA, CTE)
• Knowledge and/or experience in prototyping
• Knowledge and/or experience in modelization
• Motivated to work in an industrial project framework, being technology oriented
• Ensures timely and high-quality contributions to project deliverables, reports, and milestones
• Team-oriented with continuous learning mindset
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Fluent in English (mandatory)
• Proficiency in French (highly valued)
• Knowledge of German (welcome)
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Materials Science
• Applied Physics
• Nanotechnology
