**Job Description**
A full-time Researcher 5 position is available at the University of Minnesota within the manure nutrient management and water quality team. This role involves managing an on-farm research program, assisting with research and Extension programming outreach, and working closely with the Principal Investigator and farmers across Minnesota to plan projects and ensure resource allocation. Responsibilities also include creating research-based educational materials on manure-related research and occasionally presenting at events or conferences. The position requires a self-motivated and meticulously organized individual, with an expected start date of December 2024 or earlier. The appointment is annually renewed based on funding and performance.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Self-motivated and meticulously organized
• Experience with public speaking and/or scientific outreach (Preferred)
• Experience with Extension or Agricultural Education (Preferred)
• Experience with livestock systems and/or animal manure (Preferred)
• Experience with collecting and analyzing samples in field and laboratory settings (Preferred)
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Soil Science
• Agronomy
• Agricultural Engineering
• Environmental Science
• Related discipline in the agricultural sciences
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• 1 or more years (research training with Advanced degree)
Other:
• Valid driver’s license
• Access to use of a cell phone for work purposes
