**Job Description**
The Laboratory for Dynamic Biomolecule Design at RIKEN is seeking a Research Scientist or Postdoctoral Researcher to contribute to research focused on biomolecular design methods and the functional and structural analysis of designed biomolecules. The project aims to understand biomolecule functions by developing methods for designing membrane proteins and peptides with controllable conformational dynamics, utilizing a combination of protein design and molecular simulation techniques. The primary goal is to uncover mechanisms of biomolecular functions through experimental characterization, with an additional focus on expanding their application in life science and medical research for purposes such as perturbing cell dynamics, imaging, sensing, and drug design.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Protein design
• Molecular simulations
• Expression and purification of recombinant proteins
• Biophysics
• Chemical modification of proteins and peptides
• High-resolution structural analysis
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Ph.D.
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• Approximately 5 years post-Ph.D. (for Research Scientist with higher pay)
• Immediately after finishing Ph.D. (for Postdoctoral Researcher)
