**Job Description**
The Research Fellow will support and conduct research for a project evaluating “Dragons of Afterlands,” an augmented reality board game developed by Play Well For Life, which functions as a novel, peer-based digital mental health solution. Key responsibilities include collecting mixed research data from children, young people, and professionals, supporting dissemination, and contributing to a final report and publications. The role involves engaging with various stakeholders and school-aged pupils unable to attend school due to mental health or related needs, focusing on social and digital learning, belonging, trust, peer learning, wellness, and mental health.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Proven expertise in participatory or youth-led research, with experience of a range of methods, including creative approaches with vulnerable groups.
• Skilled in analysing and presenting data.
• Ability to produce high-quality reports and communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences.
• Confident working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Flexible and organised, able to manage own workload.
• Ability to travel within the UK.
• Ability to work outside standard hours when needed.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and to addressing bias in research practice.
• Experience with digital learning (desirable).
• Experience with social science and education theory (desirable).
• Experience conducting semi-structured interviews (including with children and young people with SEND) (desirable).
• Experience writing for academic publication (desirable).
• Willingness to continue developing expertise in youth, child or disability studies (desirable).

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Relevant discipline (Ph.D)

• Equivalent research experience with children and young people.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
