**Job Description**
Nottingham Trent University, in collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University, is offering two Research Fellow positions funded by the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF), a UK-based charity focused on preventing youth violence. The first role (Grade G, 36 months) involves supporting a mixed-methods evaluation of the YEF Neighbourhood Fund, which aims to understand how local empowerment prevents children’s involvement in violence, working across five ‘hyper’ sites. The second role (Grade H, 15 months) focuses on secondary data analysis to identify when and where young people are most at risk of serious violence, exploring drivers and protective factors. Both roles require strong quantitative analysis skills and teamwork within a consortium.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Quantitative statistical analysis
• Competence in R studio or SPSS
• Good understanding of conducting quasi-experimental research methods (Grade G)
• Strong communicator
• Comfortable working flexibly within a team environment
• Experience in conducting interviews and focus groups with community members and practitioners (beneficial for Grade G)
• Confidence engaging with young people (ideally for Grade G)
• Statistics training
• Experience in the use of GIS software for basic and more advanced analyses (regression and spatial statistical analysis) (Grade H)
• Experience of working with open-source data (desirable for Grade H)
• Experience with police forces and or police data (desirable for Grade H)
