**Job Description**
This position supports interdisciplinary research within the Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering and Assistant Professor Hairong Wang’s research group. The primary focus is on advancing diagnostic frameworks and therapeutic discovery through data processing and model development, specifically contributing to AI for healthcare and drug discovery. The successful candidate will conduct data-driven experiments, develop machine learning models on varied biomedical data modalities, and work with medical imaging, speech recordings, and molecular structure data to test existing algorithms and design improved methodologies for clinical applications.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Experience with Python
• Hands-on experience with deep model training, optimization, and development (Preferred)
• Familiarity with biomedical datasets (e.g., medical imaging, speech, or small molecule data) (Preferred)

Required Degree(s) in:
• Computer Science
• Industrial Engineering
• Mathematics
• Statistics
• Related field
