**Job Description**
The DuBois Lab is seeking a motivated postdoc or biochemistry professional to complete a federally funded biochemistry research project. This individual will carry out biochemical research in one of two project areas, with a focus on characterizing the interplay of human and microbiome metabolisms at the molecular level. Specifically, the role involves understanding the biochemistry of iron metabolism by symbiotic bacteria within the human GI tract. Experimental work may include bacterial cultivation and phenotypic characterization, molecular studies involving protein expression, purification, and characterization, activity assays, and biophysical studies of purified enzymes and metabolites. Bacterial cultivation in fermenters, chemostats, or anaerobic chambers may also be relevant.
