**Job Description**
The University of Surrey is seeking a Research Associate in experimental nuclear physics to support its programs in nuclear structure physics and nuclear astrophysics. The successful candidate will join a diverse research group, focusing their efforts on the overlap between nuclear structure and nuclear astrophysics, contributing to the university’s ambitious vision for life-changing education and research.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Proven track record of contributions in nuclear physics, including preparation of manuscripts for publication and conference contributions
• Experience with data analysis using the ROOT analysis package (advantageous)
• Experience performing and analysing experiments with gamma-ray and charged-particle spectroscopy (advantageous)
• Knowledge of Coulomb excitation and/or gamma-ray spectroscopy of exotic nuclei (advantageous)
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Experimental Nuclear Physics (or nearing completion of PhD)
