**Job Description**
The Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Blood & Marrow Transplantation in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa is seeking applications for a full-time Assistant Professor on the research track. This is a non-tenure track position, with the appointment contingent upon available funding. The successful candidate will be a highly qualified and motivated scientist expected to lead basic and translational research projects focused on advancing the understanding of thrombosis, vascular biology, and stroke. **Skills & Abilities**
• Demonstrated expertise in platelet and leukocyte biology
• Demonstrated expertise in thrombosis and hemostasis in vivo assays
• Demonstrated expertise in microscopy including intravital
• Demonstrated expertise in experimental models of stroke (filament and embolic) with long-term functional outcome
• Experience in supervising laboratory and/or research personnel
• A strong publication record with evidence of first-author and corresponding-author roles
• Prior success in securing research funding at the postdoctoral or junior faculty level
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications and scientific presentations
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biomedical science-related field
Experience Required:
• A minimum of five years of postdoctoral training in basic and/or translational research
Other:
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release
