**Job Description**
The appointee will primarily conduct cutting-edge research in language science within the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies, actively pursuing external research grants as a Principal or Co-Investigator. Responsibilities also include providing quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, contributing to departmental service, and performing other duties as assigned. The role emphasizes interdisciplinary scholarship, particularly in areas like theoretical linguistics, psycholinguistics, second language acquisition, language neuroscience, and computational linguistics, with a focus on child language development in Hong Kong.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Substantial experience in conducting experiments with child participants using behavioral paradigms, eye-tracking, and/or brain-imaging techniques
• Strong record of high-quality academic publications in the field of child language development
• Proficient in major programming languages commonly used in experimental linguistic research (e.g., R, MATLAB, Python)
• High level of proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese
• Knowledge of Cantonese (highly desirable)
