**Job Description**
The appointee will primarily conduct research, actively pursue external research grants, provide quality teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate levels, and contribute to departmental service within the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies (CBS). CBS is a constituent department of the Faculty of Humanities, specializing in cutting-edge language science research and education across various interdisciplinary areas, including theoretical linguistics, psycholinguistics, second language acquisition, language neuroscience, speech processing, communication disorders, translation, and language technology.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Substantial experience in conducting experiments with child participants using behavioral paradigms, eye-tracking, and/or brain-imaging techniques
• Strong record of high-quality academic publications in the field of child language development
• Proficient in major programming languages commonly used in experimental linguistic research (e.g., R, MATLAB, Python)
• High level of proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese
• Knowledge of Cantonese (highly desirable, as the position involves conducting research with children in Hong Kong)
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• PhD degree in Linguistics or a closely related discipline

• Preferably possess at least two years of postdoctoral research experience
