The Alonso Lab at the UNT BioDiscovery Institute is seeking a Research Assistant to contribute to a project focused on enhancing oil content in Physaria fendleri (Lesquerella), a promising industrial oilseed crop. The role involves working collaboratively within a small team on plant cultivation, daily hand-pollination, flower tagging, embryo collection, and sterile embryo culturing. Additionally, the assistant will support biomass extraction and analysis for this US Department of Agriculture-funded project. The Department of Biological Sciences investigates all facets of living systems, from molecular genetics to organism-environment interactions.
