**Job Description**
The Research Assistant will work in the Marine Genomics Lab at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, responsible for planning and performing laboratory work for projects related to the genetics of exploited fishes. This role involves standard molecular genetics techniques, next-generation sequencing library construction, data analysis, and general molecular biology laboratory operations.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Experience in scientific research related to molecular biology.
• Knowledge of molecular biology laboratory equipment, scientific apparatus, and computer equipment.
• Experience with next-generation sequencing library preparation or other genomic techniques.
• Ability to balance multiple projects and pay close attention to detail.
