**Job Description**
The Research Assistant will be responsible for planning and performing laboratory work in the Marine Genomics Lab for various projects related to the genetics of exploited fishes. This involves executing standard molecular genetics techniques, constructing next-generation sequencing libraries, developing new protocols, and analyzing data for reports and manuscripts.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Knowledge of molecular biology laboratory equipment, scientific apparatus, and computer equipment.
• Experience with next-generation sequencing library preparation or other genomic techniques.
• Ability to balance multiple projects and pay close attention to detail.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biological Sciences
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• Experience in scientific research related to molecular biology.
Other:
• Two years in scientific research related to molecular biology (preferred for Master’s degree).
