**Job Description**
The Department of Cardiac Surgery at Michigan Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Scientist to join the Thoracic Aorta Research Lab. This role focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying aortic aneurysm and valve disease, which are significant causes of morbidity and mortality. The selected candidate will conduct experiments utilizing various approaches, including stem cell biology, gene editing, bioengineered human vascular grafts, and animal model studies, to gain mechanistic insights into disease pathologies and develop treatment strategies, ultimately aiming to improve surgical outcomes for thoracic aortic aneurysm and dissection.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong backgrounds in vascular medicine
• Strong backgrounds in stem cell biology
• Strong backgrounds in gene editing technologies
• Proficiency in vascular biology data analysis (plus)
• Proficiency in genomics data analysis (plus)

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• MD
• PhD
