**Job Description**
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will join Dr Joseph Burgoyne’s group at King’s College London to investigate the fundamental mechanisms underlying cardiovascular health and disease, with a focus on identifying and developing new therapeutic strategies for heart failure. This role involves leading research projects that integrate studies using isolated cell systems with advanced in vivo models, including the characterization of newly generated transgenic mouse lines. A key aspect will be conducting translational studies to evaluate novel therapeutic strategies, thereby advancing the understanding of heart failure and accelerating the development of new interventions.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Expertise in preclinical mouse models of cardiovascular disease.
• Expertise in breeding and characterising transgenic mice.
• Tissue/cell culture experience.
• Broad cell/tissue biology experience (e.g., immunoblotting, primary cell culture, qPCR, and related techniques).
• Motivated and hard-working.
• Ability to integrate with colleagues, work as part of a team, and undertake shared group tasks.
• Able to carry out learnt techniques unsupervised.
• Able to plan and prioritise workload and keep clear and well-organised laboratory notes and records.
• Expertise in vessel myography (Desirable)
• Expertise in models of heart failure (Desirable)
• Expertise in redox biology (Desirable)

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biological sciences (PhD)
• Cardiovascular biology (PhD)
• Physiology (PhD)
• Related discipline (PhD)

**Experience**
Other:
• Substantial experience working with animal models of cardiovascular disease.
• Strong skills in cell and tissue biology techniques.
