**Job Description**
This Postdoctoral Research Associate position at Durham University’s Department of Engineering focuses on hydrogen technologies and their integration into energy systems. The role involves undertaking experimental and numerical studies within the EPSRC-funded hydrogen research hub (HI-ACT), aiming to deliver industry-relevant tools for optimal design and operation of hydrogen technologies in real-world applications. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of multi-disciplinary modelling, advanced AI algorithms, and decision-support tool development for various hydrogen technologies-based energy systems.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Proven track record of publishing in high quality international academic journals
• Experience of working as a research student in an engineering/virtual lab
• Excellent communication skills
• Expertise in the design and execution of engineering experiments
• Expertise in the design and development of experimental rigs for innovative development relevant to hydrogen technologies (such as hydrogen fueled power and propulsion system development)

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Related subject (Ph.D. degree or close to completion)
