**Job Description**
The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate for the lab of Dr. Surinder Batra and Dr. Afshin Salehi. Dr. Salehi’s lab is dedicated to the forefront of brain cancer therapeutics research, specifically focusing on developing and validating preclinical models for neuro-oncological diseases. This includes pioneering laser interstitial thermal therapy mouse models, studying blood-brain barrier breakdown, engineering nanoparticles for targeted laser therapeutics, and exploring new drug discovery for pediatric high-grade gliomas. The lab is also actively involved in developing new syngeneic mouse models and devising novel treatments for pediatric high-grade gliomas through drug trials, tumor immune microenvironment studies, and advanced laser therapies. The successful candidate will work on these projects, utilizing new technologies.
