**Job Description**
This Postdoctoral Research Associate position at Durham University’s Department of Engineering focuses on undertaking both experimental and numerical studies within the EPSRC-funded hydrogen research hub (HI-ACT). The project aims to deliver industry-relevant tools that enable optimal design and operation of hydrogen technologies in real-world applications, working at the intersection of multi-disciplinary modelling, advanced AI algorithms, and decision-support tool development for various hydrogen technologies-based energy systems. The role also involves contributing to research proposals, spin-out activities, and enhancing research impact.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Proven track record of publishing in high quality international academic journals
• Excellent communication skills
• Expertise in the design and execution of engineering experiments
• Expertise in the design and development of experimental rigs for innovative development relevant to hydrogen technologies (e.g., hydrogen fueled power and propulsion system development)

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Related subject (Ph.D. degree or close to completion)

**Experience**
Other:
• Experience of working as a research student in an engineering/virtual lab
• Proven track record of publishing in high quality international academic journals
