**Job Description**
The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate for the lab of Dr. Surinder Batra and Dr. Afshin Salehi. Dr. Salehi’s lab is at the forefront of research in brain cancer therapeutics, focusing on developing and validating preclinical models for neuro-oncological diseases. The work includes pioneering a laser interstitial thermal therapy mouse model, studying blood-brain barrier breakdown in patient-derived xenograft mouse glioma models, engineering nanoparticles for targeted laser therapeutics, and exploring new drug discovery for pediatric high-grade gliomas using connectivity mapping. Additionally, the lab is developing a new syngeneic mouse model. The post-doc will engage in projects aimed at devising novel treatments for pediatric high-grade gliomas through new drug trials, the study of the tumor immune microenvironment, and laser therapies.
