**Job Description**
The Institute of Biosciences and Technology (IBT) of Texas A&M Health Science Center is seeking highly skilled and motivated postdoctoral candidates to join Dr. Julian Hurdle’s laboratory. The role involves interdisciplinary research in host-pathogen interactions and therapeutic discovery, with a focus on mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of gastrointestinal diseases. This position offers an excellent opportunity to engage in innovative research, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and develop a comprehensive understanding of gastrointestinal microbiology, pathogenesis, and drug discovery within an outstanding collaborative environment that integrates basic and translational sciences.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Literacy in the English language and ability to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in standard molecular biology laboratory techniques (e.g., RT-qPCR, Western blotting, tissue culture, immunoprecipitations, ELISA, tissue staining, fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry).
• Expertise in molecular genetics, protein biochemistry, and animal models.
• Expertise in microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, multi-omics, and animal models of disease.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biological Sciences (Doctoral degree)
**Experience**
Other:
• Laboratory research experience in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, and animal models of infectious diseases.
• A record of published work that is commensurate with experience.
