**Job Description**
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct research focused on insect midgut biology within arthropod systems, primarily in a contained laboratory environment. This involves designing and executing proteomic, transcriptomic, imaging, and physiological experiments to identify factors essential for nutrient transport and successful feeding. The role also includes evaluating the nutritional status of engineered strains of gene-edited or transgenic insects, analyzing data, drafting figures, preparing research manuscripts, presenting findings at conferences, and providing training and supervision to research support staff.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data and write reports.
• Ability to utilize a computer and applicable software.
• Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to perform various molecular biology and genetic techniques (Preferred).
• Ability to create databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks as directed by the supervisor (Preferred).

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biology
• Genetics
• Biochemistry
• Entomology
• Closely related field

**Experience**
Other:
• Research experience/training in molecular biology techniques (Preferred)
• Experience in insect gut physiology (Preferred)
