**Job Description**
A postdoctoral position is available in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department at UNMC, focusing on brain metastasis of breast and lung cancers. The successful candidate will perform various molecular biology, cell and tissue culture techniques, generate lung and breast cancer mouse models, and analyze biomarkers in serum and tissues from cancer patients. Responsibilities also include testing novel combination therapies for preventing brain metastasis, applying immunoncological techniques to understand the tumor microenvironment, discovering novel targets, and developing therapeutic strategies for aggressive brain metastatic cancers (breast, non-small, and small cell lung cancers). Additionally, the role involves studying alterations in immunometabolism in primary lung and breast cancers, their brain metastatic cell lines, patient-derived tissues, and patient-derived xenografts.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Research experience and a strong background in cancer biology, biomarker, immunometabolism, and cancer therapeutics.
• Ability to work on spontaneous mouse models.
• Ability to perform intracardiac injections on mice to develop experimental brain metastasis.
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s):
• PhD

• Prior experience in lung cancer and metastatic models and techniques such as molecular biology, cell culture, biomarker analysis, immunoncology, immunometabolism, and therapeutics in cancer.
