**Job Description**
This Postdoctoral Research Associate position involves conducting research on insect midgut biology within arthropod systems in a contained laboratory setting. The role requires designing and performing proteomic, transcriptomic, imaging, and physiological experiments to identify factors critical for nutrient transport and successful feeding. Responsibilities also include data collection, record-keeping, analysis using computer programs, evaluating nutritional status of engineered insect strains, preparing manuscripts, presenting findings, and supervising research support staff.

• Ability to analyze data and write reports.
• Ability to utilize a computer and applicable software.
• Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to perform various molecular biology and genetic techniques (Preferred).
• Ability to create databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks as directed by the supervisor (Preferred).

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biology
• Genetics
• Biochemistry
• Entomology

**Experience**
Other:
• Research experience/training in molecular biology techniques (Preferred)
• Experience in insect gut physiology (Preferred)
