**Job Description**
The Institute for Geophysics at The University of Texas at Austin (UTIG) invites applications for a research fellow position focusing on tropical paleoclimate. The role involves studying tropical paleoclimate using corals and cave speleothems, integrating with climate simulations, and contributing to cutting-edge research on interannual climate variability (ENSO) and decadal climate variability (TPDV) due to external forcings from glacial times to the future. The candidate will measure geochemical changes in fossil corals and speleothems, compare paleoclimate records to climate model output, and employ proxy system models.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Research experience selecting and sub-sampling coral and speleothem samples.
• Knowledge about tropical climate dynamics including ENSO and TPDV.
• Experience analyzing climate model output and proxy system models.
• Ability to perform independent laboratory research and collaborate effectively.

• Earth Sciences
