**Job Description**
The “Muscle Metabolism and Ageing” group investigates the regulation of anabolic and catabolic processes in skeletal muscle ageing, focusing on mTORC1 signaling. This postdoctoral fellow position involves investigating the role of mTORC1 and lysosomes in muscle physiology and ageing, designing and performing molecular studies on iPSC-derived skeletal muscle cells and aged mouse models, and independently analyzing data to develop innovative experiments. The role also includes supporting funding proposals, publications, presenting research, and supervising junior scientists.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong track record of scientific accomplishments is essential
• Prior hands-on experience in cell culture, mouse work, biochemical assays, metabolomics or microscopy is highly desirable
• Capable of working independently, bringing commitment, critical thinking and a problem-solving mindset to the group
• Ability to work well in a team and think creatively
• Expertise in skeletal muscle biology, lysosome biology and/or human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technology will be given preferential consideration

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Molecular Biology
• Cellular Biology
• Biochemistry
• Related field (PhD or near completion)

**Experience**
Other:
• Strong track record of scientific accomplishments is essential
• Prior hands-on experience in cell culture, mouse work, biochemical assays, metabolomics or microscopy is highly desirable
• A FELASA certificate for work with laboratory animals would be considered a strong asset
• Experience in supervising or mentoring junior lab members, such as master’s or undergraduate students, is considered a strong asset
