The role, initially for one year with potential for renewal, involves elucidating molecular mechanisms of light emission in bioluminescent organisms and developing novel luminescent proteins for imaging. The successful candidate will focus on characterizing and engineering calcium-responsive photoproteins from marine invertebrates and developing calcium sensors, with research directions adaptable to the candidate’s expertise.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field
• Expertise in protein expression and purification, cloning, and next-generation sequencing
• Experience with insect or mammalian cell expression systems (desirable)
