**Job Description**
The Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering offers an excellent opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate to conduct applied research in the Amit Goyal group. The role focuses on the synthesis, device fabrication, and characterization of Na-ion based batteries and supercapacitors using carbon electrodes derived from waste tires. The project aims to develop novel methodologies for extracting activated carbon and achieving high-performance energy storage solutions.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Prior battery fabrication and electrochemical device characterization.
• Prior supercapacitor fabrication and electrochemical device characterization.
• Experience with advanced materials characterization techniques.
• Strong motivation and ability to work independently.
• (Preferred) PhD research experience in battery fabrication with knowledge of supercapacitor fabrication.
• (Preferred) Prior experience working on batteries/supercapacitors with carbon derived from waste tires.
• (Preferred) Good experience with electronics and typical laboratory test instruments.

• Chemistry
• Materials Science
• Chemical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Related field
Other:
• Ph.D. completed within the last five years, or soon to be completed.
