**Job Description**
A full-time postdoctoral associate is sought to collaborate with Dr. Jeffrey R. Vincent on research concerning the economics of afforestation in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The research involves three main components: a systematic review of survival rates in tree-planting programs, an impact evaluation of a large-scale tree-growing program in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and India, and an analysis of financial incentives for smallholder tree growing in Ethiopia. The associate will work with a research team, program staff, and researchers at The World Bank, which also funds the position.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong quantitative skills, including impact evaluation methods, discrete choice experiments, systematic reviews, and meta-analysis.
• High levels of proficiency in associated software (e.g., Stata, R, Ngene).
• Knowledge of development economics.
• Field experience in LMICs, ideally experience in one or more of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, India, or Ethiopia.
• Basic proficiency related to geospatial analysis (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth Engine) (Desired).
• Strong oral and written communication skills (Desired).
• Experience working with and managing interdisciplinary research teams and using project-management software (e.g., Slack) (Desired).
• Record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals (Desired).

Other:
• Doctorate with advanced training in natural resource, forest, or environmental economics.
• Knowledge of development economics combined with field experience in LMICs.
• Ideally, experience in one or more of the five focal countries for the research (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, India, Ethiopia).
