A postdoctoral position is available for a highly motivated and academically outstanding candidate to pursue a scientific career in plant biology and pathology. The successful candidate will engage in a collaborative project focused on the molecular identification and functional characterization of genes for resistance to cereal diseases, specifically Leaf rust and Fusarium head blight, in wheat. This role involves comprehensive research activities from population development to gene characterization.

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Proven track record of scientific productivity
• Ability to think critically and work independently
• Experience with wheat haploid production through wide hybridization (preferred)
• Experience with genetic mapping (preferred)
• Experience with genome editing (preferred)

Required Degree(s) in:
• Plant Pathology
• Genetics
• Molecular Biology
• Plant Biology
• Other related fields
Other:
• Prior experience with plant pathogens and/or plant tissue culture
