**Job Description**
The Furey Lab in the Department of Genetics seeks a postdoctoral fellow for a computational genomics research program focused on inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). This position involves collaboration with Dr. Shehzad Sheikh’s lab in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. The successful candidate will lead the computational analysis and interpretation of multi-omics data (e.g., ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, scRNA-seq, Cut-N-Run ChIP-seq, miRNA-seq, metabolomics) from IBD patients and controls, investigating chromatin, epigenetic, and transcriptional alterations associated with disease phenotypes. The role also includes writing scientific papers, presenting at meetings, and offers the potential for developing independent research projects.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Proficient in one or more programming languages: Python, Perl, R, Java, C.
• Familiar with functional genomics experiments (e.g., ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, scRNA-seq, Cut-N-Run ChIP-seq, miRNA-seq, metabolomics).
• Experience analyzing data from functional genomics experiments using robust computational, mathematical, and statistical techniques.
• Experience leading and conducting genomics experiments (highly desired).
• Experience performing research in inflammatory bowel diseases, intestinal, or immune-related diseases (highly desired).
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills.

Required Degree(s) in:
• Computational Biology
• Bioinformatics
• Related field
