**Job Description**
This PhD research project focuses on exploring techniques to facilitate experts in the elicitation of priorities for computing systems operating in dynamic and uncertain environments, particularly within Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The research aims to improve decision-making in self-adaptive IoT networks, such as smart homes, by addressing challenges arising from conflicting requirements and unforeseen situations. A primary direction for investigation involves using Inverse Reinforcement Learning (IRL), an AI-based technique, to infer reward values and support the expert elicitation process by leveraging observed behavioural history.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Inverse Reinforcement Learning (IRL)
• AI-based techniques
• Understanding of IoT systems and their adaptive behaviour
