**Job Description**
This EPSRC iCASE PhD project, sponsored by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, will investigate the insulation reliability of offshore wind turbine generators. The research focuses on generator insulation systems utilizing mica tapes and laminates, which are critical for maintaining performance and extending asset life in harsh offshore environments. The project aims to address the vulnerability of turn-to-turn insulation by investigating its ageing mechanisms under combined electrical, thermal, mechanical, and environmental stresses, leading to the development of predictive asset management strategies.
