**Job Description**
This PhD scholarship focuses on developing stochastic optimisation algorithms for hyper-parameter tuning in Machine Learning. The successful candidate will research and explore optimisation strategies to enhance the performance of complex machine learning models, including deep learning and large language models, within the School of Information Technology at Murdoch University.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong background in optimisation.
• Strong background in machine learning.
• Strong background in artificial intelligence.
• Track records of research in the fields of optimisation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Information Technology or a related field
Other:
• Must meet the admission requirements of the required HDR (Higher Degree by Research) degree.
• Possess a First-Class Honours degree, H2A (or equivalent), or a Masters degree with a significant thesis component.
