**Job Description**
BI Norwegian Business School offers a four-year Ph.D. Programme in Economics, designed to train students for high-quality scientific research using economic theory and state-of-the-art econometric methods. The Department of Economics, with its strong research-oriented faculty, focuses on various fields including microeconomic theory, macroeconomics, econometrics, labor economics, natural resource and energy economics, political economics, industrial organization, and international and development economics. This doctoral program is an important element in the department’s research excellence strategy and BI’s vision to become one of the leading research business schools in Europe, offering a gateway to prestigious academic positions globally. Selected candidates will join a talented group, working in close collaboration with faculty members and actively participating in research seminars and workshops.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Master of Science degree with thesis work
• Research Masters/M.Phil degree
• Comparable degree relevant for the specialization in Economics
Other:
• Grade point average of B or higher
• An MBA degree does not fulfill the requirements for admission

**Experience**
Other:
• GRE General/GMAT test score (required for applicants from outside the European Economic Area/the European Union or Switzerland)
• TOEFL/IELTS test score (required for applicants whose native language is not English, with minimum scores: TOEFL 575/233/90 or IELTS 6.5, unless exempted)
