**Job Description**
The Fusion Energy Division (FED) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory invites applications for a Nuclear Engineering position focused on developing the technical basis for the first fusion nuclear facility. The role involves designing, analyzing, and optimizing fluid flows in tritium breeding blankets, utilizing computational fluid dynamics (CFD), thermal hydraulic, and magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) analyses. The successful candidate will leverage advanced analytical and computational skills to use and modify open-source codes, explore integrated design and optimization of tritium breeding blanket systems and related components, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

• Background in nuclear engineering (Preferred)
• Experience using thermal hydraulics models and codes (Preferred)
• Experience using the MOOSE framework (Preferred)
• Familiarity with magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow (Preferred)
• Experience in design and analysis of fusion reactor components, specifically tritium breeding blankets (Preferred)
• General familiarity with a variety of blanket concepts (solid, liquid metal, and molten salt breeders) (Preferred)
• Experience in the analysis of heat transfer systems (Preferred)
• Working knowledge of computer languages such as C++, FORTRAN, or Python (Preferred)
• Experience with computer aided design (CAD) software (Preferred)
