**Job Description**
The Lead Discovery Informatics (LDI) Center and the Laboratory of Dr. Christoph Gorgulla are seeking a highly motivated computational chemist. This role involves applying state-of-the-art computer-aided drug design techniques to discover novel small molecule modulators for targets relevant to pediatric disease. The applicant will work collaboratively with domain experts in pediatric biology, chemistry, pharmacology, and institutional shared resources for translational science.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong background in computational chemistry, including molecular dynamics simulations, virtual screening, quantitative structure activity relationship modeling, and chemical informatics.
• Comfortable using high performance computing resources.
• Developing, maintaining, and mining chemical and biological databases.
• Experience with designing proximity-based small molecule modulators (e.g., PROTACs, molecular glues) (welcome).
• Proficiency in scientific computing languages (e.g., R, Python) (plus).
• Proficiency in open-source programing tools (e.g., Knime, RDKit, ChemProp) (plus).
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Bioinformatics
• Molecular Biology
• Biochemistry
• Computer Science
• Related field
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• 2+ years (Bachelor’s degree)
Other:
• No experience required with Master’s degree.
