**Job Description**
The Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC) at the University of Florida offers multiple Adjunct Clinical Postdoctoral Associate positions for the 2025-2026 academic year. These positions provide advanced training in health service psychology within a university counseling setting, focusing on APA profession-wide competencies and mental health ethics. The program aims to support students’ mental health and well-being through high-quality, socially conscious services, including brief, confidential counseling, crisis intervention, stress management, outreach, consultation, training, and assessment. Postdoctoral associates will receive professional development and autonomy while fulfilling diverse roles of a university clinician, designed to meet Florida licensure requirements.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Ability to work in and with large complex systems
• Demonstrated ability to conduct brief psychotherapy and crisis intervention
• Knowledge of applicable laws and ethics pertaining to all mental health fields in Florida
• Demonstrated skills in providing outreach and prevention services
• Demonstrated ability to supervise trainees
• Knowledge of developmental issues in University populations
• Knowledge of intermediate computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Suite and virtual meeting platforms)
• Ability to work with and learn various software programs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and organizational skills
• Demonstrated skill in working well under pressure to prioritize and manage multiple clinical, consultation, and/or outreach situations
• Ability to coordinate efforts as a part of a multidisciplinary team
• Energy to flexibly manage professional demands within a counseling center with high utilization rates while maintaining positive and healthy perspectives and relationships
• Demonstrated skills to conduct crisis management; short-term individual, group, and couples’ counseling/psychotherapy; care plan formulation and recommendations
• Self-motivated, self-directed commitment to high professional ideals, standards and ethics
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Counseling Psychology
• Clinical Psychology
• Counseling related field
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• Minimum of three years professional experience in a mental health setting with at least one year in a student counseling or student mental health setting.
Other:
• Doctoral degree from an APA or CPA accredited program
• License-eligible as a psychologist (or licensed as a psychologist)
• Completion of an APA accredited doctoral internship in health service psychology
• Administrative/Leadership experience (Preferred)
