The Technische Universität Ilmenau in Germany offers a Ph.D. position within the DFG Priority Program SPP 2477 “Nitrides4Future – Novel Materials and Device Concepts.” This specific role is part of the sub-project focusing on “Ternary metal nitrides – exploring fundamental optical and electronic properties towards ferroelectric functional structures.” The research aims to experimentally acquire comprehensive knowledge of optical, electronic, and electro-optical properties of innovative d-electron element containing group-three nitride compounds, such as [(Sc,Y,La),(Al,Ga,In)]N, with the goal of developing ferroelectric electro-optical switches. The work involves close collaboration with a Ph.D. student focused on fundamental solid-state theory of these materials and is intended for the promotion of academic qualifications.
