Postdoctoral Research Associate, Biomedical Engineering

**Job Description**
The Song lab at the University of Arizona is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join their tissue engineering team. The ideal candidate will conduct independent and collaborative research on in vitro cell culture systems and animal models, with a focus on evaluating regenerative therapies. Responsibilities include experimental design, data analysis, contributing to proposals and publications, and mentoring junior researchers.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Ability to learn new skills outside of current discipline and comfort zone to accomplish project goals
• Demonstrated broad theoretical and practical knowledge within the fields of tissue engineering, or cell biology
• Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment
• Strong work ethic, communication skills and team-player oriented personality
• Strong scientific track record demonstrating well-organized design and execution of studies
• Experience with cell biology, physiology, and/or tissue engineering
• Experience with cell culture
• Experience with in vitro analytical techniques to assess the cell viability of tissue constructs
• Experience with immunostaining, western blot, flow cytometry, ELISAs, qPCR, and microscopy
• Experience with animal experiments

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biology
• Neuroscience
• Biomedical Engineering
• Chemical Engineering
• Materials Science
• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Related discipline
The selected candidate must have a conferred Ph.D. upon hire.
